Cargocycles

Cargocycles

Cargocycles, a family-owned business that specializes in cargo bikes and electric bikes (and electric cargo bikes), is family-owned. Located in Brunswick East, Melbourne.

They have not only one of the biggest specialist cargo and electric bike showrooms anywhere in the world but also a large warehouse in Melbourne that houses all the bikes they don’t have room for.

They strongly believe that the best way to make an informed decision about a Cargo or electric bike purchase is to get expert advice and the opportunity to ride each option. Then, they will be able follow up with a workshop and qualified technicians.

The workshop specializes in the maintenance of the bikes that they sell. They have lifts for larger bikes and licensed testing equipment for electrical systems.

They can also supply and install electric conversion kit from manufacturers like Pendix, Bafang, and Solarbike on new and old bikes.

If you are further away, they can supply your range of bikes through their dealer network.

Cargocycles is committed in reducing their environmental impact. They are happy to assist you.

They don’t hate cars like crazy. While they know that not all trips can be made by trucks, vans, and cars, they believe some trips can be done with smaller vehicles.

Customers can reduce their carbon footprint with their bikes. They replace short car trips with electric and human powered transportation.

Transporting objects around the globe takes energy. Transporting objects by surface (shipping, rail, and road) is much more efficient than air freight.

To minimize environmental and financial costs, they use sea freight only to import their bikes. Regular (non-express), surface freight is used for delivery.

It is easier to handle freight efficiently if it is not rushed. Express road transport carriers have two options: send a half-empty truck or miss a “next-day guarantee” deadline. The truck will then run half empty, possibly following another half-empty truck further up the highway. It’s exciting to have a cargo bike delivered, but it is not essential. Express transport is generally faster than regular road transport, but can sometimes take a few days to reach its destination. They are grateful for your patience.

They are open to your suggestions, comments, and questions about how they can improve their business to make it more eco-friendly.
