St Paul’s Hostel

St Paul's Hostel

The St. Paul’s Hostel for the Elderly first opened its doors in 1995, initially catering to the senior citizens of the Lebanese community as well as those from other Arabic-speaking communities. It was established by the Antonine Sisters, who went on to lead the organization through its growth into a reputable and well-liked retirement community that is open to people of all different kinds of histories.

Their home, which is located on a peaceful street in Thornbury and features convenient access to public transportation, is able to provide high-quality care and housing for up to sixty residents. They provide a variety of care options, such as permanent care, care for people with dementia, care for people in need of temporary relief, and palliative care.

Their residence has earned every possible accreditation, and the kind and well-informed staff members who work there are fully committed to providing high-quality care around the clock. They are a Catholic organization that does not seek financial gain and instead focuses on acts of kindness, compassion, respect, and inclusion in all that they do.

As part of the individualized approach that they take to providing care, each resident has a care plan that has been specially designed for them. This plan takes into account a wide variety of lifestyle, medical, and clinical requirements, as well as the resident’s emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs and preferences.

You and your loved ones can have peace of mind knowing that the care and support that is rightfully yours will be provided to you in an atmosphere that is secure, pleasant, and friendly at St. Paul’s.

Medical Care

Following admission, you will most likely continue to receive medical care from your primary care physician if at all possible. They will give you a list of alternative visiting doctors to choose from in the event that your primary doctor is unable to assist you.

In the event that you have a medical emergency, they will do everything in their power to make sure that your chosen physician can be reached at any time of the day or night. In the event that your primary care physician is unavailable, the Locum Service will be requested to make a house call.

Your primary care physician will, when necessary, coordinate referrals to the most qualified specialists. St. Vincent’s, The Royal Melbourne, and Austin hospitals all offer their patients the option to receive hospital care in the comfort of their own homes when it is medically necessary.
